Batch action error: the command 'image size' is not currently available (-25920)

At work recently I had to adjust the image size of a heap of photos to all the same size.

I attempted to do a batch action (resize) but got an error.

I got the error: the command 'image size' is not currently available (-25920)

I was working on a PC, not sure of its RAM etc, using Photoshop CS

can someone please tell me how I get around this error?

I haven't had exactly the same problem, but a very similar one: in my case I was trying to export a path to Illustrator, and had the same error come up: "The command 'Export' is not currently available."

It works fine from the menu, but it fails when I play back the Action.

I don't yet know what the problem is, but the solution might be the same for both mine and yours! Keep an eye on this thread:

For resizing images you can't beat Dr Browns's "Image Processor" script. This can be downloaded from the Adobe Exchange and now comes as part of Bridge in CS2 and CS3.

I would look at the steps in the Actions palette. Is the Image Size one unchecked?

Message "command [whatever] is not currently available" is displayed when the action attempts to execute a command that is "greyed out" at the moment.

The only times I can get File > Export... or Image > Image size to "grey out" is when there is no file open on which to apply these commands. This suggests something is whacked in the combination of Batch command settings and action commands. The result of the "open sequence" is "no file opened," which causes the following command to fail.

Check the following:
* If the action includes a File > Open command, delete it or disable it (by unchecking the far left embossed square) AND be sure Batch option "Override action 'Open' commands" is UNchecked.
* If the action does NOT include a File > Open command AND Batch option "Override action 'Open' commands" is checked, UNcheck this setting.
